RYA VHF Marine Radio Course
1 Day Course & Assessment

The  RYA VHF Course Details

The RYA VHF course is a comprehensive one-day shore-based program followed by an assessment lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Participation in our VHF course, which includes GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System), requires some pre-course study on your part. Upon booking your spot in the course, we will provide you with the VHF RADIO (including GMDSS) Course Handbook G31 to read. This pre-course reading, approximately 3 hours in duration, is crucial, as there is limited time during the day to cover the essential theory needed to understand the practical aspects of the course.

The classroom-based RYA VHF course and assessment commence at 09:00 and conclude around 18:00. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an RYA SRC Certificate of classroom course completion, enabling you to participate in the exams. The assessment, lasting about 1 hour, will test your homestudy and course content knowledge.

About the RYA Operator’s License

The course will be conducted in our fully-equipped classroom in Mikrolimano -Pireas furnished with all the necessary materials and equipment to familiarize yourself with the operation of VHFs and emergency communication equipment.
