Duration and Format:
- Theory Course: Spanning 5 days from 09:00 to 17:00, the theory component takes place at aegeanMode’s classroom in Mikrolimano The theoretical foundation sets the stage for practical application.
- Practical Course: Following the theory course, a 6-day practical sailing adventure unfolds, navigating the beautiful Saronic islands. This combination allows participants to seamlessly integrate training with a memorable holiday experience.
Course Highlights:
Holistic Learning: The program provides a holistic learning experience, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of sailing. Participants gain essential knowledge and then immediately apply it in real-world sailing scenarios.
Perfect Blend of Training and Holidays: Offering a unique blend of training and holidays, the course allows participants to explore the island of Lefkada during the theory phase and visit at least 6 different destinations in the Saronic during the practical phase. This ensures an enriching and enjoyable experience.
Fully Equipped Classroom: aegeanMode’s Mikrolomano classroom is fully equipped with all necessary course materials, including essential yacht parts and equipment. This immersive environment allows participants to familiarize themselves with safety and emergency procedures on a yacht.
Daily Schedule:
- Theory Course: 09:00 to 17:00 daily, providing an in-depth exploration of theoretical concepts, navigation techniques, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Practical Course: A 6-day sailing adventure around the Ionian islands, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired skills in a real-world setting. Each day presents opportunities for hands-on learning and practical seamanship.

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION
Embark on a sailing adventure in the Ionian by joining our tuition yacht alongside fellow enthusiasts. This unique experience combines learning with leisure as you share the yacht with a maximum of four other students, plus the instructor. The package includes provisions for breakfast and lunch, covering all yacht expenses. Accommodation may be shared, and saloon berths may be utilized to maximize space.
PRIVATE TUITION
Tailored for small groups of friends and families aspiring to master the art of sailing together, private tuition offers an exclusive experience. You won’t share the yacht with others, ensuring a personalized journey with your dedicated instructor. Opt to charter a coded vessel from our fleet, allocate a cabin for your instructor, and seamlessly blend training with a holiday ambiance. Please note that fuel, provisions, the cost of the instructor’s meals, and mooring fees are not included in the price.

The Day Skipper course serves as the initial training milestone for individuals aspiring to take the helm of a yacht. The journey of enriching one’s knowledge and accumulating yachting experience is an ongoing process. Once you have garnered sufficient expertise as a Day Skipper, the natural progression typically leads to the RYA Coastal Skipper course, acting as a crucial precursor for those aiming to undergo Yachtmaster Coastal or offshore preparation and examination to attain professional qualifications. Post-course completion, participants receive a personalized, comprehensive debrief from their instructor, offering valuable guidance and recommendations for the subsequent stages of their maritime education.
