RYA Catamaran Training – RYA Competent Crew / RYA Day Skipper
Private Catamaran Training From: €6.580,00
About the Catamaran Course,
The RYA Catamaran Training adheres to the RYA Competent Crew & RYA Day Skipper syllabus, tailored to Catamaran sailing and power handling techniques. Our booking department team will assist you in selecting the appropriate Catamaran for your needs. This course is exclusively offered privately, allowing you to seamlessly integrate your training with family or friends during your holidays.
- Most suitable for Catamaran owners or those aspiring to own one, this course provides specialized insights into Catamaran sailing and power handling.
- Traditionally, learning the art of sailing involves a monohull sailboat. The sensations of sailing, the degree of heel based on your maneuvers or reefing, and the overall thrill differ significantly on a monohull.
- Conversely, a catamaran offers more spaciousness, remains level, and is equipped with two engines. While the fundamental principles of sailing remain consistent, there are subtle differences. For catamaran owners, these two courses offer an opportunity to acquire specific skills and knowledge tailored to catamaran navigation.

About the RYA Day Skipper Certificate
The RYA Day Skipper certificate is widely accepted as the minimum requirement for chartering a yacht by most global authorities. Furthermore, certificate holders can apply to the RYA for an ICC (International Certificate of Competence), a globally recognized qualification.
Participants in the RYA Skipper practical course are expected to possess the required level of theoretical knowledge (Day Skipper theory level). This 6-day practical course includes extensive navigation, chart work, and sailing activities, making it impractical for the instructor to teach theory from scratch. However, instructors will coach and guide participants to bridge any gaps in theory and navigation knowledge.
