RYA SRC Marine Radio / VHF Course Overview:
- Online Course with RYA SRC/VHF Instructor:
- The RYA SRC Marine Radio / VHF course is conducted online with support from a certified RYA SRC/VHF instructor.
- The subsequent assessment, lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour, can be taken at our Syvota Bay classroom or any RYA Recognised Centre.
- Online Course with RYA SRC/VHF Instructor:
Assessment Details:
- An exam fee of £70 (Pounds) is applicable, directly payable to the RYA.
- Assessment focuses on testing home study and course content knowledge.
Course Registration and Materials:
- Upon course registration:
- Receive the VHF RADIO (including GMDSS) Course Handbook G31 for self-study.
- Gain access to the RYA interactive website for the duration of the course.
- Upon course registration:
Online Course Completion Certificate:
- Successful completion of the course earns an RYA SRC Certificate of online course completion.
- This certification qualifies participants to proceed to the exams.
Ideal for Skippers and Crews:
- Targeted towards skippers and crew members of sailing yachts seeking an SRC radio operator’s licence.
- Enables operation of a short-range marine VHF radio with DSC (Digital Selective Calling).
Legal Requirement and Yachtmaster Exams:
- Holding an SRC Radio operator’s licence is a global legal requirement for marine VHF users.
- Satisfies one of the prerequisites for participating in RYA/MCA Yachtmaster practical exams.
Interactive Learning Platform:
- Delivered through the RYA’s Interactive Site, compatible with PC, MAC, and available as an iOS app for iPad/iPad Mini.
