Sail in the Ionian
April 18, 2021RYA Training in Greece with a First
October 21, 2021One more successful RYA course has come to the end. it was one of these courses that had a little bit of everything. Sunshine, swim-stops, and lunch in idyllic bays sailing in various and challenging weather conditions and of course tasting every night the local cuisine. This is what you are going to experience if you choose to take your RYA sailing courses in Greece
Many people ask me, which is the best period for taking an RYA sailing course in the Ionian and if September or October are nice months for this. My answer is that every month has different characteristics. In the Autumn the water is still warm for swimming and the temperature during the day is much cooler. During the night though you might need a fleece or a jacket. At this time of the year, you should also expect to experience cloudy days and rain. It is most likely to sail in various weather conditions which at the end of the day is exactly what we need during our training week in order to improve your skills and build up your confidence during the course The ports and restaurants are less crowded and the evenings are very pleasant and most of the local shops and bars are still open. The season in places like Ithaca finishes at the end of October wherein in bigger towns like Lefkas and Preveza, the businesses stay open all year round.
Our training centre runs RYA courses until the end of November and we start again after the winter break in March. Make a contact at info@ionianmode.com and we will make sure that we will pick together the right period for your training that suits your needs and expectations.
