The MCA/RYA Yachtmaster is the most recognized certificate in the Yachting industry. It represents that the holder has adequate training and skills to safely skipper a Yacht up to 200GT. The MCA / RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate can be commercially endorsed and the holder can skipper a commercial yacht <200GT. The three levels of the Yachtmaster Qualification represent how far from “Safe Heaven” the holder can skipper a Yacht

The MCA / RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate is a great achievement for those who want to start a career in yachting as well as for recreational sailors who want to expand their knowledge and improve their skippering skills. The holders of MCA / RYA Yachtmaster Offshore with commercial endorsement have the option to become instructors as well as to progress to the MCA merchant scheme. For your commercial endorsement, you will need in addition the following certificates: PPR ( Professional Practices and Responsibilities ), RYA Sea Survival, and ENG1 or ML5 Medical Certificate
The duration of the Theory course is 6 Days. The duration of the Practical Preparation is 5 days followed by a 1 to 2-day exam depending on the number of candidates. The 5 days preparation is quite intense en route from Lefkas to Corfu and is conducted by experienced Yachtmaster instructors to already experienced sailors with deep knowledge of theory. During the preparation, your instructor will coach you accordingly in order to fill any gaps and improve any weaknesses of yours.
